Culture and imperialism

"I don't know for certain, but I have probably spoken more words
in Igbo than English but I have definitely written more words in English"

  ( Chinua Achebe)

Having said this, the author wants to tell us about the colonization
of the African for the Bristh Empire.Despite Achebe's upbringing was
multicultural,as the inhabitants of Ogidi still lived according to
many aspects of traditional Igbo.He was the child of a Protestant
missionary and received his early education in English. He used to be
ashamed by his backroots and after a long time,he started to question
why he was so embarrased by his own origins so he became interested in
the culture of Africa.
Then,he started to embrace his own culture, and he made up his mind that
apart of being a writer,he was also a teacher, because he spreaded the knowledge
of Igbo culture, and apart from that he is a shaper of conciousness,as a writer
he reflects in his books his own view of life and the values to which he is comitted.
